Given Energy ~ A Metaphor

With hard won labour, a buzzard

Leaves the perch a top the blasted oak.

Cat calling as with broad patterned

Beats she rises to the sky.

Mewing, soaring, beating, glides

Beating, mewing, soaring, glides

Then finding a thermal with a shriek of glee

It soars

Ah! This is what a buzzard’s for!

The given energy lifts, transforms,

Releases effort for the business of the day.

Feeding self, feeding dependants.

Growing to soar, soaring to grow

On given energy.

Soaring to feed, feeding to soar

On given energy.
